The Giant

So, this is an old marker sketch I did for my Production for Fine Arts Class.  We were supposed to design a poster for a band to promote their upcoming gig.  The assignment limited us to 4 colors, and it had to be set up a certain way in photoshop so that we could technically send it off to get printed.  I chose young the giant, because I like their music - and I actually went to highschool with some of the guys.  It's a long story.

Anyway, I was coming up with this super tight, geometric drawing at first - but that frankly looked like crap.

So I sat down and scribbled this out in 15 minutes.  Literally.

My professor looked at it and said, "Just do this.  The other one was shit."

And so I did.  I don't know heads or tails about poster design...so it came out kinda alright.  (And yes, I did the text by hand...it's not the greatest, now that I look at it - but I was desperate at the time.)
