First time

So, something different for a change.

I have never attempted nor tried to do modeling nor animation on the computer before - and I know that if I ever hope of being an animator or working at a studio, I have to know this stuff.  It's just that...I feel like I'm using some fine precision surgery tool with my left foot.

My attempts at using Blender have left me a tad bit frustrated - I had to watch a 30 minute video that just explained the user interface of the program.  Wanting to create something with immediate results, I switched to Sculptis instead.

It's actually pretty fun - and a bit harrowing too.  It forces you to analyze every aspect of your sculpture - switch views, do some subtle additions and what not.

Who am I kidding, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Anyhow, here's my first attempt at it.  The person I created looks androgynous and weird, but I'm still working on that.

  1. Mike and I are so impressed that you taught yourself how to use this program! Not bad for your first attempt (says the girl who knows NOTHING about computer animation). That said, I should really say, "WOW!!!" because I think it's amazing that YOU TAUGHT YOURSELF. Bravo, Sarah!

    1. Why thank you! It's actually not that difficult to get your head around the program - they make it extremely intuitive - just like you would be modeling with actual clay. So, honestly, getting to know the interface was the easy part. I"m still discovering it, but it's super fun :D
